The first transnational meeting of the project “MLO – Moving and Learning Outside” was held on the 16th and 17th of November, in Athens, Greece.
This project, that was born from an application to the programme of the European Union “Erasmus +”, wills to promote new educational strategies where the movement and the enjoyment of outdoor places are the key for the global development of children during preschool age.
All the project partners, coming from as many countries as Portugal, Estonia, Norway, Croatia and Greece, were present in this activity.
The meeting begun with a presentation of each partner institution and a visit of 14 school directors from diverse educational institutions from Athens, that got to know better this project, followed by a work meeting where central issues for the development of the project were at the table.
At the second meeting day it was carried out a guided visit to a kindergarten’s complex in Athens that suffered an urban intervention that eliminated barriers, qualified the outdoor space and made it able to be shared by everybody.
The general opinion of the participants in this activity was that MLO had begun in the best way possible, with the project showing characteristics that make it innovative and crucial for a new approach to outdoor spaces in and outside school as a space of excellence for the most diverse learnings of children.
